Manage your profile, email, and personal information.

Profile Information

Your profile information helps personalize your PatientNotes experience and may appear on exported notes.

Accessing Profile Settings

Go to Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Profile to update your personal information.

Updating Your Name

Change your display name:

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Account
  2. Click on your name field
  3. Enter your new name
  4. Click Save

Your name appears in the app header, on your sessions, and may be included on exported notes if you enable that option.

Medical Specialty

Your specialty helps PatientNotes recommend relevant templates and provide better AI suggestions. To update:

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Account
  2. Find the Specialty field
  3. Select your specialty from the dropdown
  4. Save changes

Email Settings

Your email address is used for login, notifications, and account recovery.

Email Address

Your current login email is shown in Account settings. Changing it requires email verification.

Changing Your Email

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Account
  2. Click "Change Email"
  3. Enter your new email address
  4. Enter your password to confirm
  5. Click "Send Verification"
  6. Check your new email for a verification link
  7. Click the link to confirm the change
Important
Until you verify the new email, you'll continue using your old email to log in. The change only takes effect after verification.

Organization Information

Organization settings affect your entire team. Only admins can change these settings.

Organization Name

Your practice or clinic name. Appears in the app and optionally on exported notes.

Updating Organization Name

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Account (admin only)
  2. Find "Organization Name"
  3. Enter your practice name
  4. Save changes

Profile Picture

Add a profile picture to personalize your account:

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Account
  2. Click on your current avatar or the camera icon
  3. Upload an image file (JPG, PNG, or GIF)
  4. Crop if needed
  5. Save changes
Best Size
Square images work best. We recommend at least 200x200 pixels.

Deleting Your Account

If you need to delete your PatientNotes account:

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Account
  2. Scroll to the bottom
  3. Click "Delete Account"
  4. Enter your password to confirm
  5. Type "DELETE" to confirm
Permanent Action
Deleting your account is permanent. All your sessions, notes, and data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Before Deleting

  • Export any notes you want to keep
  • Cancel your subscription (to avoid further charges)
  • Transfer team ownership if you're the only admin
